Description

Betrayal is the ultimate online party game where a team of players tries to figure out which one of them is an evil betrayer whose task is to kill the “good” characters one by one. Depending on your role, the gameplay mechanics change drastically, but in the end the most enjoyable part is discussing the events of the round and trying to weed out the evil-doer (or shift the blame onto someone else, effectively sabotaging the whole game).

At the beginning everyone on the team is assigned a role. Regular crewmembers must perform tasks around the map that are represented by simple mini-games. In the meantime, the betrayer, who looks just like everyone else, can make things difficult for everyone by sabotaging stuff and slowly killing off the rest of the team. After the round is over, there is a brief discussion that allows the players to try and figure out what was happening. The betrayer also takes part in the discussion, pretending to be a regular player. After the discussion is over, someone can be voted out, and if the bad guy lives on, the game continues.

The best way to play Betrayal is with your friends. This game is completely free, and all you need to be able to enjoy its full experience is a computer with a modern browser. The controls are so basic, even a child can figure them out: walk around by pressing WASD or arrow keys, interact with the E key and use the mouse to perform tasks. The game itself is all about talking things out, identifying the betrayer or bluffing and deceiving the rest of the team.

Despite the fact that currently only a handful of levels is available, every Betrayal game has the potential to be an unforgettable experience, simply because of how unpredictable humans are. Create your own story with crazy twists and turns, vote the bad guy or gal out, or confuse your friends and make them paranoid as the betrayer. Have fun solving the mystery!
